Reverend Gail I. Myers
A native of Montgomery County—Mt. Gilead, North Carolina–Reverend Gail I. Myers is a resident of Johnston County since August 2001. She has served as pastor in two cross-racial appointments—Longview UMC, Raleigh and Lakewood UMC, Durham. Myers was ordained in the Missionary Baptist tradition serving as an associate minister at Clarks Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Wadeville, North Carolina and Peace Missionary Baptist Church in Durham, North Carolina. She is known as a passionate and vibrant preacher and teacher of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Pastor Myers is a graduate of Shaw University with a Bachelor of Arts in Religion and Philosophy and a graduate of Duke University Divinity School with a Masters of Divinity.
Pastor Myers is married to Talbert Myers, retired Vice-President of Continuing Education at Johnston Community College, Smithfield (1999-2011). They have three adult children, Kinetta, Maurice, and Kenton (deceased). They are also the proud grandparents of Miguel and Sarah.
